Product Description

Thermocouple Temperature Sensor is a commonly used temperature measurement instrument component, which is widely used in temperature measurement and control in industrial production. It directly measures the temperature and converts the temperature signal into a thermoelectric potential signal, which is then converted into the temperature of the measured medium through an electrical instrument (secondary instrument). Thermocouple Temperature Sensor has the advantages of simple structure, convenient manufacturing, wide measurement range, high accuracy, small inertia and convenient remote transmission of output signals. It is a passive sensor that can work without an external power supply.


Working principle

Thermocouple Temperature Sensor consists of two different conductors or semiconductor materials (called thermoelectrodes) to form a closed loop. When there is a temperature gradient at both ends, a current will be generated in the loop, thereby generating an electromotive force, which is called thermoelectric potential. The size of the thermoelectric potential is related to the material of the Thermocouple Temperature Sensor and the temperature of the two contacts, but has nothing to do with the shape and size of the Thermocouple Temperature Sensor. By measuring the thermoelectric potential, the temperature of the measured medium can be known. ‌


Use and maintenance ‌

1. Installation ‌

The installation of the Thermocouple Temperature Sensor should ensure that the hot electrode is in full contact with the measured medium, and the protective tube can effectively isolate the harmful medium. ‌

2. Temperature compensation ‌

Since the cold end temperature of the Thermocouple Temperature Sensor will affect the measurement results, compensation measures need to be taken, such as using compensation wires or performing cold end temperature compensation calculations. ‌

3.‌Troubleshooting‌

Regularly check the insulation resistance and thermoelectric potential output of the Thermocouple Temperature Sensor. If any abnormality is found, it should be handled promptly to avoid affecting the measurement accuracy.‌
